Self Adjustment of the Spine

You can increase mobility and alignment by creating a connection between the cranial sutures and different areas of the body. Then you can synchronize this connection with your cranial rhythm to deepen the adjustments.
Most of us think 'getting an adjustment' means that someone cracks our back in order to push misaligned vertebrae back into a 'correct' position. But there are reasons a vertebrae is off kilter. There's been some kind of micro- or macro-stress factor(s) that compressed the area and pushed it out of place. Merely pushing it back where we think it should be does not usually support lasting change. Sometimes it can even exacerbate stress in the area.
The method taught in this course approaches alignment in a very different way. It stimulates mobility & alignment from the inside out by creating a connection between the part of your nervous system that monitors alignment and the subluxated vertebra. Then, you learn how to synchronize the energy rhythms of your body to deepen that alignment. The depth of healing that this stimulates is something that no one else can do for you.

Who is this course for?
Anyone who wants a natural method they can do for themselves to relieve pain, increase energy and build resilience. You need to be interested in doing self-healing work that has a meditative focus.
How does this method work?
There's a relationship between your cranial sutures and your vertebrae. You'll be learning how to create an information relay between each area of the spine and its correlated suture. Then you'll be using that to increase alignment.
How can I use this method in my life?
You'll can use it to alleviate pain and illness that are caused by misalignments of the spine, sacrum and hip structure. You might sit or lie down for 5 minutes in order to address a tight lower back or pain in your neck. You may decide to do a longer session for deeper levels of adjustment. Some people add a few minutes of this adjustment work into whatever other self-care practices they do regularly.
How does this course fit in with our other courses in self-care/light body activation?
It can be used on its own or in conjunction with the light body materials. For example, it's great to use with proprioceptive exercise, chakra work and meridian exercises. Several people have told us that they can grasp this particular method more easily than some of the other light body activation practices.

To transform dis-ease usually requires that you take the reins into your own hands at some point. Saul Goodman is the instructor of this course. He is the founder and former director of the International School of Shiatsu that has schools in 15 countries. He has taught shiatsu and light body activation throughout the US and Europe for over 40 years, and thousands of students all over the world have studied with him. His books include The Book of Shiatsu, an advanced instructional manual called Shiatsu Shin Tai and Light Body Activation.
Lynn Goodman is the behind-the-scenes administrator of this course. She is a Shin Tai practitioner and instructor who runs a private practice in Bucks County, PA. She has taught shiatsu shin tai and light body activation along with Saul for over 20 years and is the facilitator of the Light Body Activation Podcast. Lynn also takes care of website design, administration and the creation of the online teaching classroom.
